Firle Place is nestled at the foot of the South Downs in East Sussex, just outside Lewes and around 11 miles from Brighton.

  • Firle Place is easily reached from the A27, between Brighton and Eastbourne.

    From London, take the M23 south before joining the A27 towards Eastbourne. The journey from central London is approximately 1½–2 hours, depending on traffic.

    There is ample complimentary parking at Firle Place for wedding guests. Please follow the wedding signage on arrival rather than parking within Firle village.

    Cars may be left at the venue overnight and collected the following morning.

  • The nearest station is Glynde, approximately 1.5 miles from Firle Place. From Glynde, the venue is just a short taxi journey away.

    Lewes station is approximately 5 miles from Firle and offers more frequent connections, making this the easiest option for many guests travelling from London, Brighton and elsewhere in the UK.

    If travelling from London, trains run from London Victoria towards Lewes and the surrounding area. We recommend checking your journey and booking tickets in advance.

    Taxis can be limited locally, particularly later in the evening, so we strongly recommend arranging your onward journey from the station ahead of time.

  • Firle is in a rural location and taxis cannot always be booked at short notice. If you are not using the wedding transport, we strongly recommend arranging both your outward and return journeys in advance.

    Local taxi companies serve Firle from Lewes and the surrounding villages. Your hotel or accommodation host may also be able to arrange a car for you.

    Please do not rely on being able to book a taxi at the end of the evening.

  • For guests travelling from overseas, London Gatwick Airport is the closest major airport and is approximately 45 minutes from Firle by car.

    Gatwick also has direct rail connections towards the Sussex coast, with onward connections available for Lewes and Glynde.

    London Heathrow is approximately 1½–2 hours away by car and offers the widest choice of international flights.

T H E M O R N I N G A F T E R

If you are leaving your car at Firle Place overnight, you will be able to return to collect it the following morning.

For guests staying locally, we recommend allowing a little extra time to explore Firle, Lewes or the surrounding South Downs before heading home.

A little note: Firle is a small rural village, so we recommend planning your journey and booking accommodation, trains and taxis well in advance. Further details regarding wedding-day transport will be added here closer to the date.
