There are plenty of beautiful places to stay within a short drive of Château Martinay, from Provençal guesthouses to larger hotels.
We recommend staying in Mazan or Carpentras, where wedding-day transport will be provided to and from the Château.

There are also lots of beautiful villas, gîtes and private homes available throughout Mazan, Carpentras and the surrounding villages.
These can be a particularly good option for families or groups of friends travelling together and staying for several nights.
We recommend booking accommodation as early as possible, particularly during the summer months when Provence can be very busy.

For guests travelling from overseas, Marseille Provence Airport is the nearest major international airport, approximately 1 hour 25 minutes from Château Martinay by car.
We recommend either hiring a car at the airport or arranging a private transfer in advance.
Avignon Airport is closer to the Château, approximately 35 minutes away, but offers a much more limited selection of flights.
Guests may also choose to fly into one of the larger airports in Nice, Lyon or Paris and continue their journey to Provence by car or train.

The easiest station for most guests travelling by train is Avignon TGV, approximately 35–40 minutes from Château Martinay by car.
High-speed TGV services connect Avignon with Paris in around 2 hours 40 minutes, making flying into Paris and continuing by train a good alternative for international guests.
From Avignon TGV, we recommend hiring a car or pre-booking a taxi or private transfer for the final journey to your accommodation.
Carpentras station is the closest railway station to the Château, approximately 5km away, with regional connections via Avignon.

For guests travelling from elsewhere in France or planning to explore Provence during their stay, we recommend hiring a car.
From the north, take the A7 motorway to Exit 22, following signs towards Carpentras.
From the south, take the A7 motorway to Exit 23 at Avignon Nord, before continuing towards Carpentras.

Car Hire
Hiring a car is the easiest way to explore the area and is particularly useful if you are extending your stay in Provence.
Car hire is available at Marseille Provence Airport and Avignon TGV station.
If you are staying in one of our recommended hotels and using the wedding transport, however, a car will not be necessary on the wedding day.
Wedding Transport
We will be providing return transport between selected accommodation in Mazan and Carpentras and Château Martinay on the wedding day.
Coaches will depart approximately one hour before the ceremony and return guests to the designated hotels at the end of the evening.
Full pick-up locations and timings will be shared closer to the wedding.
If you are staying elsewhere, please arrange your own transport to and from the Château in advance.
Taxis & Transfers
As Château Martinay is located in the countryside, we strongly recommend pre-booking taxis and private transfers rather than relying on finding one on the day.
This is particularly important for journeys home after the wedding.
Making a Weekend of It
If you are able to stay a little longer, we would love for you to make a weekend of your trip to Provence.
Château Martinay sits between some of the region's most beautiful landscapes, with Mont Ventoux, the Dentelles de Montmirail, Avignon and the villages of the Luberon all within easy reach.
We recommend arriving at least a day before the wedding to settle in, enjoy a glass of rosé and make the most of your time in Provence.
A little note:
Provence is particularly busy during the summer months, so we recommend booking flights, trains, accommodation and car hire as early as possible.
